Dedicated to Excellence in Foot & Ankle Care

Dr. Daniel Yarmel

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Daniel Yarmel obtained his doctorate from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Next, he completed four years of residency with extensive podiatric medical and surgical training at The University of Pennsylvania’s Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia. The training focused on all areas of foot and ankle surgery, including elective and non-elective forefoot and rearfoot reconstructive procedures, trauma of the foot and ankle, diabetic limb preservation, and applications in internal and external fixation.

In 2006 Dr. Yarmel traveled to Venezuela for Operacion Caminar 3, a medical mission that evaluated and performed reconstructive surgical procedures on children with clubfoot and other severe deformities. He is published in peer-reviewed journals (Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery) and textbooks and has lectured nationally.

In 2009 Dr. Yarmel had the privilege to join his wife, Dr. Amber Treaster, in practice at Harrisburg Foot and Ankle Center. They are now both proud members of the USFAS (Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic) team, with local practice locations in Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, and Newport, PA.

Dr. Yarmel serves as the current UPMC Residency Director (UPMC Medical Education Harrisburg Podiatric Surgery Residency Program) and is the Founder and Director of our program’s surgical training cadaver lab.

When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Yarmel enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Treaster, and their two wonderful children. He stays active by coaching soccer, participating in snow sports, and traveling with his family, while also finding time to cheer on the Wisconsin Badgers and all Philadelphia sports teams.
